Ljubljana Frogs Ljubljana Killer Bees 0-2

Sunday in Planica will once again provide spectacular views and interesting matches. Our first match will be against the city rivals Ljubljana Killerbees, who entered the season with a victory against Tigers Črni 20:7 and two defeats against Knights (6:39) and Tigers Oranžni (12:40). In the new season, the team of "killer bees" has quite a few new faces, and some comebacks to flag football fields.

The new QB of the team, Marko Novak, passed for 6 touchdowns in the first tournament, and as many as nine times the opposing defensive players intercepted his pass. He experienced a sack 3 times, and he also had 3 PA conversions and 3 tackles. Their best individual, however, is Gregor Hertl, last year's league MVP, who caught 5 touchdowns, 3 intercepted passes, 14 tackles and a point after conversion in the first tournament. The only remaining goal for the Killers was scored by center Filipovič.

In our team, the first tournament was played phenomenally by the passer Darko Mićić. He showed his knowledge, arm and talent against the Knights as he led each attack to the endzone. He passed for 16 touchdowns, 11 point after conversions for one point and 2 point after conversions for 2 points, but he also had a rushing touchdown and suffered one sack. Killer Bees will therefore have an extremely difficult job in defense. Attacking captain Žan Ocvirk opened his second season of the Slovenian Flag Football League well. 4 touchdowns, 4 PA conversions for one point and 2 PA conversions for two points is a good way to pursue the first rushing touchdown in Planica. With his speed, experience, and willingness to prove himself, he will definitely be a thorn in the Killer’s side.

In defense, the game will be controlled by Errea Bowl MVP Bor Lenarčič. He did not record an intercepted pass in the first tournament, but indicated that he had raised his level of flag-pulling and pulled out as many as 16 in the first tournament - he had 40 last season - thus announcing the fight for the best flag puller in the SFFL. RJ Williamson and Aljoša Kous will have a different role in this match, which means that Lenarčič and Strgar have the opportunity to run away from the closest followers in the SFFL.

We are looking forward to an interesting weekend in the Slovenian flag football league, where two difficult matches await us, namely the current national champions and the leading team of SFFL Kranjski jazbeci and Domžale Tigers Oranžni.
