Re-elected president Pierre Trochet and global flag football ambassador Diana Flores presented the new football which will be used in all the championships.

The Intercontinental Championship 2025 promises to be a thrilling global event, bringing together the best flag football teams from different continents, including top performers from the European Championship. European Championship


The European Championship, a highlight of the continental championships, is expected to draw top teams from across the continent. This tournament will not only determine the best flag football nations in Europe but also serve as a pathway for Olympic qualification.


Teams to Watch:


Austria, Denmark, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and UK  are expected to perform exceptionally well, building on their strong showings at the 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Lahti, Finland. 


I2025 Flag Football Continental Championships, including the European Championship will be held od 24 - 27 September 2025 in Paris. The flag football community eagerly anticipates IFAF’s announcement of these crucial details, which will be essential for national teams’ preparations and fans’ planning.


New IFAF Leadership


At the XXVI IFAF Congress in Lausanne, Switzerland, several key positions on the Executive Board were filled through elections. The newly elected members who will shape the global governance and strategic direction of American football over the next four years are:

Vice President: Jim Mullin (Canada)

Director of Finance: Uras Aslan (Turkiye)

Director of Competitions: Fabio Tortosa (Italy)

Director of Development: Russell McConnochie (New Zealand)

General Secretary: Eric Mayes (United States of America)


IFAF’s Vision for Flag Football


Under the leadership of re-elected IFAF President Pierre Trochet, the federation is committed to expanding flag football’s presence on the global stage. The success of recent events, such as the record-breaking IFAF Flag Football World Championships in Lahti, Finland, has demonstrated the sport’s growing appeal.
