Frogs beat the Wolves in game 6

We played the sixth match of the Erreà Bowl against the Ukrainians from Vinnytsia Wolves: the Ukrainians set off on a long 37-hour journey from Vinntysa to Ljubljana with obstacles. In any case, the boys did their best, and in the end, they also beat Basel Spartans for 7th place with Yevhen Khomyn, an experienced flag football player at the helm.

We entered this match relaxed because we knew that the final had slipped out of our hands. # 9 Darko Mićić passed for 4 TDs, but if it was not in the previous match regarding extra points, this time he had 3 PA1 and 1 PA2. He also ran some crucial yards. Attack captain # 23 Žan Ocvirk shone in the attack, catching 2 TDs and 1 PA1, but also had some nice runs. # 20 Klemen Repnik scored 1 TD and # 24 Lucijan Semprimoznik also scored one. # 10 Aleks Bordon scored 1 PA1, # 88 Matic Gercar scored PA1 and PA2.

The defence worked very solidly and compactly as in the first halftime; they didn’t let the wolves cross the middle. Thus, we took the lead at halftime with the result of 18:0. # 3 Bor Lenarčič had two tackles, two pass deflections and pick6, which was his second pick6 in the tournament. # 4 Dejan Godec proved himself with as many as 9 points, and one pass deflection (the record for most points in one match is still held by # 25 Žiga Strgar - 10), the mentioned # 25 Žiga Strgar had only 2 points in this match. # 31 Aljoša Kous recorded 3. # 28 Žan Luka Cegnar and # 32 Blaž Hrušovar also did a good job, forcing some QB errors as blitzers.

In the last moments, the defence gave up a bit, and the final result of the match ended with 35: 6 in favour of Ljubljana Frogs. More information about the game you can see here
