Tigers Domžale Orange 1-1
The last match of the second round of the Slovenian Flag Football League will be played against the Tigers Orange. The Tigers are always an unfavorable opponent for any team they face. Passer Jernej Pavlič brings knowledge and experience that helped him to an incredible 99 touchdowns last year, and Pajer, Pavlič and Fučko were his main targets last season. The Tigers Orange had a difficult schedule in the first tournament, where they were without their key players in the attack, and in the second tournament, which will take place in Planica, the Tigers Črni and Ajdovščina Gladiators will be on the schedule, which are currently without a victory. In the meantime, they have a rest between two matches, where they will be waiting for us and try to defeat us for the second time.
In the first tournament, Pavlič scored 11 touchdowns, 4 of which were caught by Aljaž Juhart, 2 each by Hrovat, Žargi and Kotnik, and 1 touchdown by Babnik. In the defense, the national team player Luka Kotnik was shining, intercepting 4 passes, one of which was returned to the endzone and thus he announced contention for best interceptor in the SFFL. Pavlič and Kotnik are the Domžale players that Merlin will be watching closely.
On our side, a lot is expected from Klemen Repnik, whose speed can cause a lot of headaches for the Domžale defense. The Mićić - Repnik connection worked well against the zone defense of the Errea Bowl participants, so we will see what they are preparing for the match against the Tigers Orange. Repnik recorded 2 touchdowns and two point afters in the first tournament. In defense, Žiga Strgar always had good matches, and with 16 points, he is one of the main candidates for the best flag puller. On the "front" line, he will attack the center and the Tigers slot and, with the help of blitzers, try to eliminate the Domžale attack.
